Directed by Chuck Russell and based on the Dark Horse comic series, "The Mask" transformed Jim Carrey from a comedic actor on the rise into a global superstar. The film's plot follows Stanley Ipkiss (Carrey), a kind but perpetually unlucky bank clerk, who discovers an ancient wooden mask belonging to Loki, the Norse god of mischief. When Stanley puts on the mask, he transforms into a suave, green-faced, cartoonishly powerful trickster with the ability to defy the laws of physics and reality.
