Bootloader unlocking is the first step in gaining root access or installing custom firmware. For Xiaomi devices, this process is governed by Xiaomi's Mi Unlock policy. The Poco X3 Pro requires specific attention due to its A/B partition scheme and the distinction between the global (vayu) and India (bhima) variants. Failure to follow correct procedures can result in a permanent hard brick or loss of widevine L1 (DRM) certification.
If you relock the bootloader while on a custom ROM, you will hard brick your phone (Qualcomm EDL mode required). Only relock after flashing the official stock ROM via Mi Flash Tool.
Never use the "Lock" button in Mi Flash Tool or commands like fastboot oem lock after unlocking. Relocking with non-official software will permanently brick the Poco X3 Pro due to Anti-Rollback (ARB) protection.
