Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) is a talented and successful director of a vibrant dance troupe. He is a cynic who does not believe in the concept of love, thinking it's impossible for two people to spend their entire lives together. His best friend and star performer is Nisha (Karisma Kapoor).
