Learning about an unreleased manuscript of Panditji's work, he bypasses the physical text and chooses Panditji’s old chappals (slippers) as his sole keepsake, a calculated psychological move that stuns the family and sets up his long-term play for the Gharana's legacy. With his career jeopardized and his family publically disgraced, Radhe resolves to restore his grandfather's pride. He leaves for Mumbai to join a fusion band called to seek redemption through the commercial mainstream.
