For network scanning to work, the device needs a valid IP address. This is usually assigned automatically by your router via DHCP, but it's a good practice to assign a to the device. This prevents its address from changing, which would break your scanning setup. You can do this either from the device's control panel or via the Remote UI (User Interface) in a web browser. The following two sections describe both methods.
