Before executing a reset, it is critical to understand why your Canon printer suddenly stopped working. Why Does the 5B00 Error Occur?
Resetting the internal digital counter using software is only half the battle. The Canon Service Tool resets the software clock , but it does not magically dry up the physical ink soaking inside your printer.
Press and hold down the (indicated by the red triangle inside a circle icon).
The printer will whir for a moment, move its printhead mechanism, and feed a single sheet of blank paper to print a line of confirmation code (usually showing Counter = 0 or D=000.0 ). Move down to the Ink Absorber Counter section. Ensure the Counter Value (%) is set to 0 . Click the corresponding Set button.
